The View from Hogback
"If you seek a pleasant peninsula, look about you." That's the Michigan state motto, and perhaps nowhere is it more true than atop Hogback Mountain near the Upper Peninsula city of Marquette, Michigan. I stitched together the following, 360-degree view from the top while on a hike with my son and his friend this past Saturday afternoon:
I purposely stepped down just a bit from the absolute top while taking the photos. I did that to capture more of the rocky ground on top of Hogback, to give a better sense of what it's like to be up there.
